Contacting LinkedIn Users

LinkedIn Users must use LI's messaging for Invitations, Introductions, and Recommendations. For other messages, LI User's can contact each other directly through thier personal or business Email address if desired. An Email address can be shown on a Profile under Contact Information.

If you are comfortable with making your Email address public, you can include it in your Public Profile for anyone to see. It can be saved under Profile > Edit My Profile > Contact Settings in the text box under the heading “What advice would you give to users considering contacting you?”

Making your Email address public facilitates contact from people that you may want to know but opens you up to possible spam messages. See my blog post Use a Professional Email Address for Your Job Search for more information if you are thinking of making your Email address public.

LinkedIn Tips.
